Dryers move vast quantities of air through the ducting. Dryer vent cleaning will help dryers operate more efficiently. From day one your tumble dryer and ironing machine will emit very small particles of lint and dust which have passed through the lint screens and filters. This lint and dust will stick to the sides of the ducting and gradually build up causing a narrowing of the duct.

As the duct narrows the machine can not move the vast quantity of air it needs to be efficient causing the machine to take longer to dry which costs more money to operate due to the increased usage of utilities, loss of productivity and increase your carbon footprint.

In some cases this will also cause the machine to constantly breakdown due to overheating issues. Not only does restricted ducting cost you more money it also poses a significant FIRE HAZARD. Dryer vent cleaning is not expensive and a good task to as to your “to-do” list.

Dryer vents can get blocked or clogged as a result of repeated use. Lint and other debris collected in your dryer vents can start a fire. “Other debris” might include animal nesting materials. Lint collected in dryer vents is dry and flammable.

The leading cause of home clothes dryer and washer fires was failure to clean (32%).

Dryers and washing machines were involved in 1 out of 22 home fires for 2006-2010.

In 2010, an estimated 16,800 fires involved clothes dryers or washing machines, resulting in 51 deaths, 380 injuries, and $236 million in property damage.
